My journey to UX research was unexpected but now that I’m here, I think “Why wasn’t I doing this from the start?”. I hold a BS in Public Health from Rutgers University as my initial pursuits were to conduct epidemiological studies in the realm of disease tracking, evaluating the health of a community, and helping scientists uncover the “why” for health disparities.

As I went through college, I found myself being drawn to the digital world. When the pandemic prevented us from interacting IRL, we had no choice but to turn to digital ways of connecting; our tools needed to fill the gap that a lack of face-to-face connections created. I took this as confirmation that research focusing on digging into and solving user needs was the direction I should head in. From there, I completed a certification in UX Research and Design from the Flatiron School, I attended experience conferences and began my freelancing career.

I had the opportunity to work with a menstruation awareness organization in India, a therapist looking to expand her patient network, and a jewelry business who wanted to curate an online presence. Through these varied experiences I applied the psychology and open-ended questioning I had learned through my degree, with the design thinking principles and generative research skills I had learned in my certificate. I built the confidence to stand on my own as a researcher and passionately speak to the user’s needs when facing business pushback. My goal is always to provide actionable insights that help design solutions that are not only user-friendly but also meet business objectives.

As I progress in my career, I hope to learn emerging research methodologies, grow more in my understanding of accessibility needs, and stay curious as the world around us continues to innovate.

When I’m not designing, you can find me baking cookies, designing signs and invitations for local events, or scouring thrift stores for furniture or clothes to upcycle. I love learning from others and am always open to new challenges, so feel free to reach out!
